With more than 2000 pieces of handicrafts, Kay Bojesen have made into the history of design in Denmark.
This poster features one of Kay Bojesen's most important designs - the wooden monkey.
Originally Kay Bojesen was trained as a silversmith but his was also passionate about toys and some of these toys later became iconic and a must-have for every Danes who is believed to have a sense of quality. Today the wooden animals and figures by Kay Bojesen (like this monkey) can be found all over the world and the wood factory still exists today.
This poster was produced exclusively for the Sophienholm exhibition celebrating the work of Danish designer Kay Bojesen, known worldwide for his wooden animals and timeless toys. The design by Bo Bonfils captures Bojesen’s playful spirit through geometric abstraction and bold typography.
The designer of the poster, Bo Bonfils (1941), is known for his drawings in Danish new papers and other well-known poster designs for Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Louisiana and Danish State Railways.
An ideal piece for collectors of Scandinavian design, mid-century aesthetics, or vintage Danish posters.
