A beautiful surreal exhibition poster a stunning artwork by Dali.
The poster was made to promote an exhibition with works by Dalí at Louisiana (Danish Museum of Modern Art) in Denmark.
The artwork on the poster is called Masochistic Instrument (1933-34).
Louisiana is located in Humlebæk north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The museum was opened its doors in 1958 and with its approximately 600,000 annual visitors, is one of Denmark's most visited museums and among the ten most visited tourist attractions. Louisiana is a collection of contemporary art, but also an interaction between art, architecture and landscape.
Louisiana got his name from court master Alexander Brun, who built a villa on the site in 1855. The villa's name is probably inspired by the three women he married - all three were named Louise. The founder of Louisiana chose to keep the name from the country house he subsequently transformed into a museum. The villa is now a part of the museum.
