1987 Carnival Cruise Miami by Bjørn Wiinblad - Original Vintage Poster

A Carnival Cruise? - Sounds like a great way to spend some time!

You are looking at one of two advertisement posters by Bjørn Wiinblad made exclusively for Carnival Cruises, Miami, Florida. Wiinblad was even commissioned to create on board decor on the liner MS Jubilee. After being registered in Panama, Bahamas and Sydney the MS Jubilee is still in use today under the flag of Malta.

The poster features a fine golden background color which certainly lights up the room. The artwork itself is very true to Wiinblad's special line with many colors, details and a humorous twist.

The craft of Wiinblad is often colorful, lush and full of humor. He was inspired by the sumptuous oriental style far from the Nordic stylish line. The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special.

Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. He is represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
