A quite cozy and atmospheric poster with a lot of colors and organic references..
"Plant a Tree" is a nonprofit organization which has the Danish crown prince, Frederik, as patron. Since 1988 the organization has planted 1000's of trees in Denmark: single trees, orchards at child care centers, educational forests, avenues, memorial trees and so on.
This poster was made by Bjørn Wiinblad which he donated to "Plant a Tree" (Danish: Plant et Træ) in support of their work by planting more trees.
The craft of Wiinblad is often colorful, lush and full of humor. He was inspired by the sumptuous oriental style far from the Nordic stylish line. This artwork is differently true to his special line - this horse rider looks like his is wearing some kind of Oriental clothing with a twist of imagination.
The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special.
Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. Wiinblad is represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
