A beautiful official Olympic poster which was made to promote the upcoming 1984 Olympics to be held in Los Angeles.
The poster features ingenuous artwork of a male hurdler jumping over a clapperboard - which lets you know that you are near a cornerstone in the movie industry.
The Olympic Games of 1984 did not have as many participating countries as hoped for. The Games was massively boycotted in response to the U.S. boycott of the previous Olympics held in Moscow 1980.
The 1980 boycott was tricked by the Soviet war in Afghanistan which led to an absence of 65 countries. This prompted the Soviet-led boycott of the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles. Boycotting Olympic Games was nothing special in that period. Eight years before the Games in Moscow - 28 nations boycotted the 1974 Olympics in Montreal in protest of the apartheid system in South Africa that participated in these games.
Overall this poster makes one think of the many historical events that surrounded the 1984 Olympic Games. Furthermore poster is a true beauty which displays the fine Stars in Motion artwork and is a great addition to anyone interested in the Olympics or sports.
Please note: the poster was made in 1983 but was first used in 1984.
