Copenhagen Jazz Festival is an annual festival held on the jazz and world music, which has been held in Copenhagen since 1979, the festival is not in one place, the concerts are held on the other hand around the various city venues, cultural institutions, museums, parks, etc.
The festival has since the start attracted big names from around the world, such as Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles, Michel Petrucciani, Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen, Keith Jarrett, Wayne Shorter, Dizzy Gillespie, John Scofield, Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Michel Camilo, Ornette Coleman, Svend Asmussen Quartet, Richard Bona, Tony Allen, Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin. The festival's total audience is over 250,000 annual visitors from all over the world.
Arnoldi (1941) is a self-taught, world-renowned modernist artist. He is particularly known for his posters and considered one of Denmark's most important poster artists. He is known for a tight and easily recognizable form and color language. As a painter, Per Arnoldi always uses primary colors (red/yellow/blue) on a bed of black - just like on this very poster.
Arnoldi is represented in a number of well known museums in the world including Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Museum of Modern Art in Toyama and Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
