Rare and mysterious lithography designed by Bjørn Wiinblad.
The poster depicts a lady with somewhat voluminous hair wearing a beautiful dress signing. In the background is what appears to be a man singing as well. The way they are signing could be opera as their mouths are wide open. I did spend some time looking for a copy of the poster online but it was impossible. I could not find connection between Wiinblad and any opera performances in 1982. I asked by wise and cultured mother and she thinks it could be the opera The Marriage of Figaro composed in 1786 by Wolfgang Mozart. However, I cannot find any prove.
The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special.
Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. He is represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in many other museums all over the world.
Please note: this poster has not been resized to its original size. The intended size is much smaller - you can see the little black lines where the poster was meant to be cut.
