Beautiful Arnoldi poster displaying artwork of a telephone box in bright primary colors.
The poster advertises a design competition for new "open" telephone boxes in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The beginning of the of the closed telephone boxes in Copenhagen came to an end in 1977 when a high school student placed homemade bombs in telephone booths in Copenhagen. The explosions caused fear and led to the removal of doors from 602 booths in Greater Copenhagen. In 1981, Copenhagen Phone Services, KTAS’ 100th anniversary marked the start of a new era with the new open “Question Mark” booths.
Arnoldi is represented in a number of well known museums in the world including Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Museum of Modern Art in Toyama and Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Museum of Modern Art in New York has also owns a copy of this poster!
This poster is a great contribution to the modernist legacy that (without a doubt) will spice up any wall it is hanged on. The poster is extremely hard to find so if you find yourself in the need of something quite unique - you came to the right place.
The poster is made as a silkscreen/serigraph print which means the colors looks very vibrant and the quality of the print is very high. It is a highly refined proces that takes much longer than typical offset print. However, when the serigraph is finished you can feel the textures on poster almost as if it was a painting.
