A beautiful original poster advertising The Firebird Ballet at The Royal Danish Ballet.

The Firebird is a ballet composed by Igor Stravinsky in 1910. It was his first major success and marked the beginning of his collaboration with the famous Ballets Russes, led by Sergei Diaghilev. Based on Russian fairy tales, the ballet tells the story of Prince Ivan, who captures a magical Firebird. She gives him a feather that later helps him defeat the evil sorcerer Kashchei and free the enchanted creatures under his spell. The music is rich and vibrant, blending folklore and modernism, and it remains one of Stravinsky’s most beloved works.
