A very cool silhouette style poster shaped as a man playing the sax.
The poster was made to encourage people to visit an exhibition with posters by the Danish modernist artist, Per Arnoldi.
Arnoldi is a self-taught, world-renowned modernist artist. He is particularly known for his posters and considered one of Denmark's most important poster artists. He is known for a tight and easily recognizable form and color language. As a painter, Per Arnoldi always uses primary colors (red/yellow/blue) on a bed of black - or simply three nuances of blue as on this poster.
Arnoldi is represented in a number of well known museums in the world including Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Museum of Modern Art in Toyama and Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
The poster is made as a serigraph (silk screen print) which means the colors looks very vibrant and the quality of the print is very high. It is a highly refined proces that takes much longer than typical offset print. However, when the serigraph is finish you can touch the colors and textures on poster almost as if it was a painting.
