1980 Miro Surgical Conference Poster - Original Vintage Poster

Interesting poster with art by Miro for a surgical conference.

The conference/national congress was held in may 1980 in Barcelona. The themes for the conference where: polytraumatized, septic shock and non-tumor pathology of the esophagus.

Joan Miro (1893-1983) was a Catalan painter whose surrealist works are some of the most original of the 20th century. He is mainly known for playfully distorted animal forms, twisted organic shapes and odd geometric constructions in public places - for example his ceramic walls the UNESCO building in Paris and the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum in Ludwigshafen. Miro also created several monumental sculptures which is erected among other places in Barcelona and Chicago.
