Original exhibition poster from Louisiana Museum of Modern Art with art by the French painter Jean Dewasne.
The artwork on the poster is called "Detail of Aurora" (1973).
Jean Dewasne is awesome for his bold approach to abstract art, where he used vibrant colors and dynamic geometric forms to create visually striking works. He rejected traditional representations in favor of abstraction that expressed pure energy and movement, making his pieces feel alive and futuristic. Dewasne was a pioneer in integrating art with architecture and large-scale public spaces, blending creativity with everyday environments. His work reflects a fearless exploration of form, color, and space, making him a standout figure in 20th-century modern art.
The poster was made to promote the world famous museum Louisiana (Danish Museum of Modern Art) is located in Humlebæk north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The museum was opened its doors in 1958 and with its approximately 600,000 annual visitors, is one of Denmark's most visited museums and among the ten most visited tourist attractions. Louisiana is a collection of contemporary art, but also an interaction between art, architecture and landscape.
Louisiana got his name from court master Alexander Brun, who built a villa on the site in 1855. The villa's name is probably inspired by the three women he married - all three were named Louise. The founder of Louisiana chose to keep the name from the country house he subsequently transformed into a museum. The villa is now a part of the museum.
Overall this is a stylish poster which surely will get a lot of attention when placed on your wall.
