This original and rare Danish design poster is based on the original sketch for the lamp known as PH5 by the legendary Danish architect Poul Henningsen (1894-1967).
Beneath the sketch of the PH5 (designed in 1958) is an interview with Poul Henningsen where is explains the design of the of the lamp and the whole working process towards creating lamps.
One of the main ideas behind his lamps (which is not explained in this interview) is to avoid people getting blinded from the light bulb and to create a various light reflections. These methods was based on a system where the PH5 Lamp have many screens. The screen system was developed based on mathematical calculations of how light is reflected.
On this "sketch" poster you can see the layers within the PH5 Lamp with the round ball inside representing the light bulb. The black lines on sketch shows the directions of the light and how the light is reflected inside and outside the lamp.
This poster is a marvel for anyone craving high quality design. In Denmark we call a person like that "quality conscious" - a quite picky person with a great taste who knows what he/her wants.
This poster is an original limited edition numbered No 1244 of 9999 copies.
Please note: the text in the bottom are printed with "silver" ink which makes it very hard to capture on camera. In real life the text is clear and crisp.
