1969 Traffic Safety Campaign Poster by Eiler Krag - Original Vintage Poster

Capture the raw, expressive energy of late-1960s Scandinavian graphic design with this rare original Danish traffic safety poster by the renowned illustrator Eiler Krag (1912–2000).

Created in 1969 as a joint national campaign by the Danish Road Safety Council (Rådet for Større Færdselssikkerhed) and the Esso oil company, this poster tackled the dangers of driving while exhausted. Krag’s brilliant, almost psychedelic use of vibrating lines and heavy eyelids perfectly captures the hypnotic and dangerous feeling of fatigue behind the wheel.

The Danish text on the poster can be translated into "ARE YOU DRIVEN TO FATIGUE – then you are too tired to drive!"

Eiler Krag was one of Denmark’s most prominent 20th-century illustrators, celebrated for his expressive, loose, and powerful brushstrokes. He contributed heavily to Danish cultural life and designed several iconic, highly collectable public safety campaigns throughout the mid-century era.
