Here is a very nice vintage poster depicting a majestic rhino in a green landscape.

I am quite sure that this is one of the eastern black rhinos which first arrived in Berlin in 1966. Since that time Tierpark Berlin has had a successful breeding program for this endangered spices.

This poster was made as advertisement for zoo in former East Berlin, known as the Tierpark.

The Tierpark (meaning "animal park") was founded 1955 in former East Berlin as Berlin Zoological Garden (located in West Berlin) became impassable for the residents of the former Eastern sector in DDR. There was made a huge effort to make zoo larger, more beautiful and with rarer animals than its western counterpart. Today the Tierpark with its 160 hectares is the largest of its kind in Europe. It has about 7,500 animals spread over more than 850 species.

Please note: this is one of the rarer Tierpark posters to be found.
