A beautiful and psychedelic art poster featuring a art of a race car!
The poster is actually an advertisement for a former Danish bank which ceased to exist many years ago. Bank really did made cooler advertisements in those days!
This poster was created by the Polish artist Waldemar Świerzy (1931-2013) who was a member of the infamous CYRK group. CYRK emerged around 1962 as a genre of the Polish School of Posters. The posters are characterized by their display of aesthetic qualities such as painterly gestures, linear design, hand-lettering, metaphors, humor, and vibrant colors. Świerzy was very active in the group and during the 1970s he created portraits of famous musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Charles Mingus and Charlie Parker.
Overall this poster is typical of the poster from the late 1960s with vibrant colors and an abstract image. I am sure whoever get this gem will be very happy by having this great artwork on the wall.
