If you think that the graphics for the cartoon South Park is newly invented - think again. In an almost cartoonist style the poster artist made this airline advertisement for USA.
The advertisement shows a very detailed and stereotypical map of United States. On the East coast you find the skyscrapers of NY, skiing in the mountains near the Canadian border and in Florida you find alligators, fishing and water sports.
In the South is the jazz of New Orleans, the cattle and oil of Texas and south of Rio Grande you find "traditional" Mexicans riding along the border.
The West coast in filled with the movie industry of Hollywood, the Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco, the wines of Napa and mining in the Rockies. Further to the north is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in their traditional red uniforms riding along the US border.
This is a poster you can stare at for hours and still discover new details. Furthermore this great poster offers a time pocket of the scenery in USA the 1960s. A few things would have been added if you were going to make the map today. Take a look at Las Vegas on the map - nothing is going on. The Seattle music scene and the Boring industry would have been added today. And so on.
This stunning vintage poster is suitable for a decor any place but do yourself a favor and hang it a place where you are close to it so you study it closely.
