1960s Danish Food by Antoni (small version) - Original Vintage Poster

This delightful vintage travel poster by celebrated Danish illustrator Ib Antoni captures the charm and warmth of Denmark through his instantly recognizable whimsical style. 

A smiling chef, sailor, little mermaid, Danish cheeses, fish, birds, and the national flag are combined into a playful composition that celebrates Denmark's maritime heritage, famous cuisine, and friendly culture. 

This advertisement was commissioned by "Wonderful Copenhagen" (the tourist board in Copenhagen) and this poster was probably aiming for the French-speaking audience. 

The poster artist, Ib Antoni (1929-1973), is a quite famous artist and received many prizes during his 20 year career. He designed more than 300 posters in his career and among them is several Tivoli Garden, Visit Denmark and Wonderful Copenhagen posters. Smiling  people was among Antoni's favorite subjects and his line was always happy and romantic which makes this poster quite true to his cheerful style.

Overall this is a great vintage poster featuring good vibrations along a creative artwork by one of Denmark's most beloved artists.
