1952 Red Cross American Junior "35 Years" - Original Vintage Poster
A great and historical poster for American Junior Red Cross to commemorate their 35 years of service.
Formed during World War I the members of the American Junior Red Cross knit scarves, rolled bandages and built furniture for hospitals and convalescent homes for the war effort. The kids also worked in vegetables gardens that added food and raised funds during the war.
By the end of World War II the membership grew to almost 20 million members World War II. Activities ranged from the production of clothing, toys, furniture and art works to entertainment and recreational programs at military camps and hospitals.
