A very beautiful poster portraying a cute couple from Greenland.

The poster advertises "Folkegaven - Kongeparrets Grønlandsfond" which can be translated to "A gift from the (Danish) people - the Kings and Queens Greenland Fund". The fund comes from Denmark which is a part of the Danish Realm equal to the commonwealth.

This poster was made by the Danish painter and poster artist Aage Gitz-Johansen (1897-1977). He found his artistic inspiration in several trips to Greenland in the 1930s where he passionately painted nature, wildlife and the local people. Being an educated biologist he also had an eye for portraying people in a very realistic way - something which is clearly seen on this poster.
