Super cool surreal promotion of Future Train of France!
The four train sets is forming a huge butterfly speeding away from the old days in the background towards a modern future.
The poster was designed by the Spanish artist Salvador Dalí in 1976 and his surreal signature is located in the lower left area of the poster.
Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) was a Spanish painter and is preferably known for his surrealist paintings and sculptures. His arts is represented in many famous museums all over the world and he even has his own museum (in which he is also buried) in Figueres, Spain (where he was born).
Dalí made several advertisements for SNCF (French National Railway Company). The most famous posters includes the destinations of Paris, The Alps, Normandy, Roussillon, Alsace and Auvergne. Some of theses posters are also available in my shop.
