The poster displays a nice view over the Viennese skyline where you are able to spot the city landmark of Stephansdom in the background.
Photographic travel posters like this one was made to put on display in tourist offices to promote certain destinations. People would then look at the posters to seek inspiration on a certain destination.
The purpose of the posters was a one-time use and when a new poster was made or when the tourist office started promoting another destination, the poster was thrown away. This is why only a limited number of these poster exists today.
The poster was publish by Austrian Tourist Advertising, Vienna (Österreichische Fremdenverkehrswerbung, Wien).
Please note: the large white margin in the bottom of the poster is left empty. This suggest that the owner of the poster could write the name of a given tourist office or tour on the poster. Since the margin is blank it suggest that this poster has never been in use.
