A nice art deco poster advertising the Tivoli Gardens.
The poster displays Nimb, a Moorish-inspired palace from 1909. Today Nimb is a five-star luxury hotel owned by Tivoli and building is accessible from both within Tivoli and the public street outside Tivoli.
The poster is probably a show poster for an upcoming comedy. The figure to the left is Pierrot - an old fantasy figure descending from Italian literature which has been associated with Tivoli and its entertainment for over 100 years.
The poster is an advertisement for the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen (Denmark) and is probably one of the most famous amusement parks in the world. The park is the second oldest amusement park in the world is by far the most visited spot in Scandinavia.
The poster was designed by Thor Bøgelund (1890-1959), a Danish cartoonist, educated at the Academy of Fine Arts 1909-14. Bøgelund's early posters were inspired by a simplicity and deep crisp colors. Later in his career Bøgelund was more influence of the international art deco. From 1914-58 he was associated with Tivoli Gardens and made several posters for the old Copenhagen amusement park.
I believe the poster would advertise for performances and concerts on the blank field on the poster. Since the area is left empty it suggests that the poster was never used.
