This is a quite rare poster from 1950s made by the famous German tobacco company Crüwell (Gebrüder Crüwell in German). The factory was founded in 1705 by Johann Georg Crüwell as one of the first tobacco houses in Europe and quickly became successful the German tobacco market. The production of tobacco ended in 1983 due to a increasing use of cigarettes in Germany. Today you can find symbolic souvenir shop and exhibition house in Bielefeld, Northwest Germany, where the company was founded.

In the top of the poster you can see the coat of arms of Bielefeld with a crown attached which represent the times where Germany was divided into smaller kingdoms. The lower box bears the picture of the Crüwell-Haus originally built in 1530 and rebuilt after WWII.

This is overall a very nice poster which represents a rich history. The colors are really well-preserved and the red and yellow look will light up and room and contribute with a cozy atmosphere. The poster comes with a clip wall hanger which makes it possible to hang it on the wall right away. The clip wall hanger can be removed if you like to frame the poster.
