A quite unique artwork by Bjørn Wiinblad which I am not able to find any information about.
I made up the title myself. I have had quite a few Wiinblad posters through my shop and I have never seen this one before.
The reason why I believe the poster was made in the 1960s is that it fits well with his other works Wiinblad made in this period. The two creations "Sunset" and "Sunrise" from 1965 looks quite similar - even though they do not have birds on them. But I wanted to be sure so I this is why the it says "1970s" in the poster title.
The craft of Wiinblad is often colorful, lush and full of humor. He was inspired by the sumptuous oriental style far from the Nordic stylish line. This artwork is differently true to his special line.
The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special.
Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. He is (among other museums) represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
