A very detailed weekly program poster with wonderful artwork by Bjørn Wiinblad.
The poster features information on the shows and musical performances in the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark. Tivoli is one of the world most famous amusement parks. The park is the second oldest amusement park in the world and is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Furthermore the poster displays a colorful dressed joker/jester holding a stick with a sign of the main artist.
Bjørn Wiinblad (1918 - 2006) who also is well known for his ceramics and paintings. The craft of Wiinblad is often colorful, lush and full of humor. He was inspired by the sumptuous oriental style far from the Nordic stylish line.
The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special.
Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. He is represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
