A beautiful a well-preserved travel poster advertising the small town of Leksand in Dalarna located in central Sweden.
The poster displays the spire of Leksand church which is one of Sweden's largest rural churches. The church has room for 2,300 people and can be traced back to 1100s. Next to the church is a "maypole" (Swedish: "midsommarstång") which is a tall wooden pole erected in Midsummer.
Overall a beautiful and classical travel poster from a time when the poster was the most important media.
Please note: I am unsure of the exact date of this poster. I have seen both "1936" and "1950s" used as dates but I believe the poster is from the 1940s.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
