A very nice mid-century travel poster encouraging people to visit Norway's "viking capital" - Oslo!
One huge viking is presenting a number of well-known attractions from Oslo on a tray. The might red brick Oslo City Hall, the infamous Kon-Tiki raft, a viking ship and of cause the ski jump landmark "Holmenkollen". The background is wooden planks which is a very used material in Norway and really adds to the Scandinavian atmosphere.
The poster was originally created for Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) and this poster has been made in different versions with different text. This version has been used by the Danish shipping company DFDS to promote the ferry lines from Denmark (Frederikshavn and Copenhagen) to Oslo, Norway.
