The Notre Dame is very likely one of most famous churches in the world!

Notre Dame de Paris (Our Lady) is situated on a small island on the river Seine know as "Ile de la Cité". Normally the visitors experience the church from the front with its majestic twintowers but the angle from behind is in my opinion more spectacular.

The construction of the church started in 1163 and was not completed until nearly 200 years later in 1345 making it one of the oldest buildings in Paris. Notre Dame was also the place where Napoleon crowned himself the first emperor in 1804 and later the church was the main location in the 1831 novel by Victor Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".

This is a great travel poster which was made for tourist offices around the world to inspire travelers and show of some the beauty within the Paris.

Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
