A very nice photographic travel poster promoting the famous Golden Gate Bridge linking San Francisco Peninsula and Marin County. The bridge has its name from the Golden Gate strait.
Travel posters like this one was made to place in tourist offices to promote certain destinations. The purpose of the posters was a one-time use and when a new poster was made or when the tourist office started promoting another destination, the poster was thrown away. This is why only a limited number of these poster exists today.
The motifs of these travel posters were often landmarks and historical sites as seen on this poster.
