1970s The Jungle Book by Sikker Hansen (Danish Version) - Original Vintage Poster

A very different poster for a Disney musical film.

The poster displays Mowgli and Bagheera with different expressions. Mowgli looks quite wild (and naked) and Bagheera looks a bit worrisome or maybe caring? I think the artist did not see the movie before he did the poster. Maybe he read the original fairy tale which is quite different from the Disney version. The artist died before the film was released so he could have been doing an artwork related to another version of The Jungle Book?

There is something very different about this poster. A certain mystery.

Overall this is a great poster suitable for both kids and people who remember watching this true animation classic.

This great poster was designed by the legendary Danish poster artist Aage Sikker Hansen (1897-1955). Hansen created some of the most iconic posters in Danish poster history like the Cirkel Coffee Posters.

Hansen's posters where often portraits or people often using only pencil and charcoal which makes his images quite detail rich with many textures and shades. This poster is definitely true to his legacy.
