If you are into Aage Rasmussen artwork this poster is an absolutely must-have!
This rare art deco beauty was made in 1939 to promoting trekking around Denmark. In order to find the right trekking spots one could use Danish State Railways (DSB).
A marvelous snowy landscape is here presented to the viewer. The poster portraits a typical Danish countryside view with a field next to wood of mixed trees. One might wonder why the poster depicts a winter landscape and not a traditional summer scene with high sun. My opinion is that the poster was made to encourage people to trek all the year around.
Also note that shapes and curves are quite soft and organic which is contrast to Rasmussen's posters of trains and bridges which has a more cubist expression.
The text on the poster says "-til fods" (on foot) "statsbanernes fodtursbrochure udleveres her" (State Railway's walking tour brochure is handed out here).
Overall this is a great poster with nicely drawn shades, shadows and lighting effects which represents the era of Art Deco.
