I am happy to present this great football/soccer poster featuring the European Cup Winners' Cup Final between Real Madrid and Chelsea.
The final took place on 19 May 1971 and was staged at Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Greece
The match on the poster promotes the second match finals which (two matches where played at the same station). The first match ended 1-1 so everything was open before the final match.
Chelsea won the match 2-1. Dempsey 33' and Osgood 39' scored for Chelsea and Fleitas 75' scored the single goal for Madrid. This was Chelsea's first European trophy making this poster very special for Chelsea fans.
This poster was made by the Spanish artist Donat Sauri who is also quite famous for his advertisements and bullfighting posters. You can find his poster creations being sold at auctions houses all over the world.
This is a great historical poster which is an absolutely must-have for anyone who appreciates both football and vintage posters.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
