A very strong poster with a loving couple about to kiss each other.
The graphics are quite unusual for the period where the more strict functionalism and art deco was in fashion. This design and motif is arguably ahead of its time.
The poster was designed by the American artist, dancer and make-up artist George Quaintance (1902-1957) who also was ahead of his time. Quaintance is probably best known for his "idealized, strongly homoerotic" depictions of men in magazines, literature and even in interiors. His artworks contributed to a more positive view on the stereotypical male (macho) who Quaintance depicted as bisexual or homosexual.
Overall this is a very special and beautiful poster by a quite foresighted artist.
Thanks a lot for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
