A nice abstract travel poster encouraging people to visit Copenhagen - the Capital of Denmark.
The poster displays a harmonic scene from the waterfront with little boats decorated with flowers. The large building in the background is the scenic old stock exchange from 1640.
The artwork was made by the Danish cartoonist Des Asmussen (1913-2004). Asmussen's works includes several drawings to include the newspapers but had a predilection for portraying Copenhagen city buildings and street life with a historically accurate depiction. Asmussen is perhaps best known for his action-packed ink drawings to Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind" from 1975. Today he is recognized as one of Denmark's best and most renowned cartoonists.
All in all a great vintage travel poster that will make a great addition to any wall and room it might be placed in.
