Coffee lovers look here!
A marvel of a jolly mid-century coffee advertisement in deep green and red nuances. This poster will probably make you drink even more coffee. Also during Christmas.
I believe the poster was made between 1952 and 1955 as I found old catalogs from the coffee producer using this picture. After 1955 the more infamous poster by Sikker Hansen was used which is now iconic in Denmark. I also know that the slogan in the bottom of the poster was used on advertisements from 1951-58. The translations from Danish is roughly "It pays to trade in Brugsen".
Originally the poster was ordered as an advertisement for (Christmas) coffee sold in supermarkets owned by FDB (Now "Coop") which is the association for Denmark's consumer cooperatives. The coffee was originally known as "FDB Coffee" but in 1938 the name was changed to "Cirklekaffe" (Circle Coffee) which is still produced and sold today. FDB owned different supermarkets in Denmark which is why both FDB and Brugsen (the name of the supermarket) is present on the poster.
This poster could be great for as café decor, in the kitchen or a place for relaxation.
Please note: the poster is slightly bigger than it was suppose to be as it has not be resized to its intended size for public display.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
