Here is a quite interesting World Cup poster featuring the host country Spain and West Germany in a knock-out match.
The match was played on Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, (Madrid) the 2th July 1982 in front of 90,089 fans. West Germany narrowly won the match 2-1 with goals by Littbarski and Fischer. Zamora scored a late goal for Spain. They Germany victory cleared the road to the semifinal against France while Spain was knocked-out.
The poster was made by the Spanish artist Donat Sauri who is also quite famous for his advertisements and bullfighting posters. You can actually see the bullfighting style in the lines of this poster. You can find Donat Sauri creations being sold at auctions houses all over the world.
This is a great historical poster which is an absolutely must-have for anyone who appreciates both football and vintage posters.
