A powerful poster commissioned by Amnesty International for the "Prisoners of Conscience Year 1977".
Amnesty International is a international NGO who aims "to document and act to prevent serious violations of human rights" and they do so by putting pressure on governments who does not live up the Universal Declaration of Human Rights written by The United Nations. But Amnesty International also hosts campaigns and back in the 1970s posters like this one could be seen in the streetscape.
The poster is designed by the ingenious English painter, printmaker, stage designer and photographer - David Hockney.
