Beautiful artwork by Edvard Munch advertising an exhibition in Denmark with this sinister portrait.

Edvard Munch (1863-1944) was a Norwegian painter greatly influenced German Expressionism. He is immortalized by the world famous painting called "The Scream".

On the poster is the artwork from 1896 called "The Sick Child I". The portrait is probably depicting a childhood memory when his sister Sophie suffered from tuberculosis. Munch was only fourteen when he lost her. Later Edvard said that he considered this painting to be his best as felt a strong connection with the image and was undergoing many emotions while creating the artwork.

Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
