Here is a cosy poster encouraging people to visit an aquarium in Denmark.
The poster displays a happy and colorful fish with a propeller to symbolise that the aquarium is located within "Fisheries and Maritime Museum". The museum (and aquarium) is located in the city of Esbjerg (in western Denmark) and was finished in 1968. I am quite sure that the poster was made to promote the opening of the aquarium - so the poster must be from the late 1960s.
The poster artist, Ib Antoni (1929-1973), is a quite famous artist and received many prizes during his 20 year career. He created more than 300 posters in his career and among them is several Tivoli Garden, Visit Denmark and Wonderful Copenhagen posters. Smiling people was among Antoni's favorite subjects and his line was always happy and romantic which makes this poster quite true to his cheerful style.
Overall this is a great vintage poster featuring good vibrations along a creative artwork by one of Denmark's most beloved artists.
Thanks a lot for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
