A great and "typical" Spanish late art deco poster advertising the festival of St. John the Baptist - the patron saint of Badajoz. The city of Badajoz is located near the Portuguese border in the Extremadura region.
The poster displays the beautiful skyline of the city colored by the fireworks of the festival and in the center is the tower structure of "Puerta de Palmas" from 1551. As seen on the poster there will also be bullfighting as one of the main events of the festival which also includes numerous stalls, performances by dance groups and many other cultural proposals. On the night of of San Juan there is an impressive firework show on the banks of the river Guadiana.
Overall this is great and historical festival poster in great vibrant colors which is very "Spanish" - in a quite romantic and traditional sense.
