A stunning advertisement for the infamous French cabaret and music hall "Folies Bergère". It has been called the most celebrated music hall in the world and has a very rich history!
Folies Bergère has a long history as a concert hall and performance hall dating back to 1869. The cabaret have had performers such as Josephine Baker, Maurice Chevalier, Fernandel, W.C. Fields, Ella Fitzgerald and even Charlie Chaplin! Some of the shows in the earlier periods tended to be quite erotic and attracted a lot of public attention along with the infamous Moulin Rouge and Casino de Paris. Folies Bergère still exists and has ballets, concerts and other performances on their repertoire.
The poster is a larger poster which was intended to be on display in the streets of Paris. The poster shows a lightly dressed young female performer ready for her show and has surely got a lot of attention.
Overall this is a great and atmospheric poster that will take one back to the crazy nightlife of Paris.
Please note: the poster will be shipped folded (and safely) and the poster is printed on slightly heavier paper than average French posters.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
