If you are into royalty and always forget the names of historical queens and kings - this is the poster for you! This poster is a complete list of all the Danish kings and Queens that are known to have ruled the country of north that during its history got smaller and smaller.
As the poster displays the royal house of Denmark has a long tradition for having monarchs and they all share blood with the very first viking kings. The list of monarchs on this poster ends with King Frederik XI - the father of the present queen Margrethe II - meaning that King Frederik was still alive and in rule when this poster was created.
The list of important royals all comes with a stereotypical drawing of the specific ruler - some where really posh, some really fat and some quite insane. This poster really cries out for opening the history books - believe it or not but some of there guys use to rule the greatest county in Northern Europe.
The poster artist, Henry Thelander, was originally a commercial artist and worked in the advertising department of different companies. His breakthrough as a poster artist came in the mid-1930s with his posters for The Danish Tourist Association and DSB, several of these works can be found in poster museums all over the world.
