Beautiful lithographic campaign poster for the "European Recovery Program" also known as the Marshall Plan/Aid.
The Marshall Plan was an American initiative to aid post-war Western Europe in 1947.
It is estimated that about a million people was starving in Europe after the war and this is why the Marshall Plan was so important to rebuild Europe. The plan also aided the rebuilding of houses, factories and helped Europe getting back on track - with an abundance of American machines, parts and products.
The poster displays a pair of clippers U.S. cutting barbed wire from the war and signaling peace in Europe. The clippers have "Marshall Aid" in Swedish written on it.
Overall this is a great political/humanitarian poster which is an important reminder of the necessity of international cooperation.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
