Original anti-apartheid protest poster from 1982.
The poster was created by Wifredo Lam (1902-1982) a famous Cuban artist who sought to portray and revive the enduring Afro-Cuban spirit and culture. In 1980s Lam joined the artist group called "Artistes du monde contre l'apartheid" was formed and the United Nations Special Committee against Apartheid commissioned a series of 15 posters. This is one of them.
The poster speaks against the horrible apartheid (racial segregation and discrimination) that existed from 1948 to about 1991 in South Africa.
