The campaign poster was made in Cuba as a protest against the U.S. intervention in Panama in 1989. The intervention was to end the rule of dictator General Manuel Antonio Noriega and combat drug trafficking. The conflict lasted for two weeks resulting in democratic elections in Panama.
The poster was published by the Cuban political movement shortened "OSPAAAL" (Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America). The movement was born in 1965 with the purpose to promote ideas such as socialism, human rights and communism but also to speak against globalisation, imperialism and liberalism. Many of the approx. 326 OSPAAAL posters made stands as iconic and historical Cold War propaganda poster and many of the posters are highly valued by both collectors and entusiasts all over the world.
