A very beautiful Spanish festival poster from the Basque city of Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Northern part of Spain. The poster of what appears to be a bull fight is made in complementary colors together with a nice art deco inspired finish.
The Fiestas de la Virgen Blanca festival is celebrated every year from the 4th to the 9th of August in honor of the patron saint of the city, and features special events, activities and free open-air concerts.
On August 4 the party starts quintessential Vitoria-Gasteiz with the ringing of the bells of San Miguel and the traditional "loud bang" at six o'clock in the evening which marks the beginning of the festivities in honor of the Virgen Blanca - the patron saint of the city. The descent of Celedon (a man wearing with beret and dressed in a typical blouse and accompanied by an umbrella) "fly" from the bell tower of San Miguel church to a balcony of the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, This event starts the party with the bustle of thousands of people who congregate in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca in the city.
At the end of the festival on August 10, the "Celedón" bids farewell to the city, returning to climb the bell tower of San Miguel with great fireworks and attendees say goodbye in sadness.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
