A very nice exhibition poster displaying a cheerful summer setting with a grand toast.
The painting on the poster was made by famous Danish painter Peder Severin Krøyer (1851-1909). - one of Denmark's most famous painters. Krøyer's best known and best-loved work is entitled "Summer Evening on Skagen's Southern Beach" with Anna Ancher and Marie Krøyer from 1893. He painted many beach scenes featuring both recreation life on the beach and local fishermen around the northern tip of Denmark - Skagen.
The motif on this poster is called "Hip, Hip, Hurra" and is from 1888 also painted Krøyer's favorite style - impressionism.
The exhibition was called "Nordic Painting" and was set up in National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen.
