A very nice art deco advertisement for the legendary Fernet Branca!
Fernet Branca is an bitter herbal liqueur. Bernardino Branca invented the Fernet-Branca bitter in Milan, Italy, in 1845. The drink was originally intended as a medicine and is still used for gastric ulcer. In addition to curing gastric ulcer, Fernet Branca is also said to cure menstrual pain, hangover, infant colic and cholera.
Today Fernet Branca is produced in Milan by the company Fratelli Branca, and production is controlled by the Branca family.
The image of the poster depicts an eagle holding a bottle of Fernet Branca on top of the globe. The logo was created by the Italian artist Leopoldo Metlicovitz, who is known as one of the precursors of futurism.
Please note: this poster has a passepartout taped around the poster (from the back) and the measurements below includes the passeartout.
