Two mysterious monkeys looks like they are having an insider joke on this great CYRK poster from the late 1970s.
The name "CYRK" means "circus" in Polish but it also refers to vintage circus posters from Poland, emerged from around 1962 as a genre of the Polish School of Posters. They are characterized by their display of aesthetic qualities such as painterly gestures, linear design, hand-lettering, metaphors, humor, and vibrant colors.
The CYRK posters are usually based on a single theme and meant to be advertisements and were created in an attempt to interest the passerby in the upcoming circus.
This poster was created by Maciej Urbaniec (1925-2004), a Polish graphical designer and artist which style is both simple and powerful with the use of ingenious and humorous tone - as seen on this very poster.
This poster is great addition in most rooms as the simple and colorful look will both give add to the beauty of room without stealing the entire picture.
